Sister Gertrude Morgan Commissioned by Ace Hotel

Commissioned by Ace Hotels and Preservation Hall in New Orleans, to be designed by Y.E.P. Design Works. I was one of the designers assigned to this project, of which two were picked, and was the main hand behind creating this particular design
This was a piece for Ace Hotel's "Queens of New Orleans" exhibition, a special installation meant to honour Sister Gertrude Morgan, a preacher and artist/ musician from New Orleans who was most prominent around the 1950's. My goal in building this was to depict several vital parts of Sister Gertrude's life; ranging from here wondrous work as an artist and musician, her home/ church in the ninth ward, and finally her unshakable faith in god above all else.
